Terra Perma Design hosts a number of workshops, short courses, Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC), and Introduction to Permaculture courses throughout the year. Please refer to our calendar below to see what's coming up or follow the links to the left to find out more about the courses and workshops.

NOTE: for 2013 we are breaking our PDC into 12 separate workshops that anyone can attend. To actually attain your PDC you will be required to attend all the workshops marked "PDC Workshop" 1 through 12.

Also for 2013 most workshops will be held in Hamersley or Innaloo. Some may be presented at other locations to suit the topic; you'll be advised when booking.

2013 (first half)

Wed. April 10th Studio ReCraft - Crocheted ReCycled Vase

Thu. April 11th Studio ReCraft - Crocheted Floor Rug

Make a funky floor rug with crocheting in this 2 hour workshop. One of the hottest trends in now and so easy to do. Learn how to recycle old fabric into usable yarn. Materials supplied.

Learn the ancient skill of rope & knot tying in this practical workshop where you bring along your garden or workshop tools to customize the handles.

Sun. April 21st PDC Workshop 7 - A Waterwise Life
time: 10am - 4:30pm, cost: $110

Everything you need to know about the water cycle, and using water efficiently in Perth. Tanks, bores, grey water, waterless toilets and other intelligent ideas to conserve water. Also how to mulch effectively, reticulate, and keep plants and animals producing food.

Sun. May 12th PDC Workshop 8 - Permie Plants & Food Forests
time: 10am - 4:30pm, cost: $110

Learn the basics of forest types, tree crops, forage, coppicing, agro forestry, wind breaks, designing for catastrophe. Food forests are the integration of all these learning’s to produce for all our needs forever!

Sun. May 19th Workshop - Edible Weeds Foraging Tour
time: 10am - 2pm, cost: $65

Learn to identify the many common annoying weeds that are edible and contain more minerals than most veggies in the shops. This workshop includes an edible weeds course booklet and several hands on walks and taste tests to give you the confidence to get started.

Chooks, Rabbits & Worms - Learn how to keep healthy animals and use them to recycle your waste into food and fertiliser.

Growing in water provides abundant summer vegetables, air conditioning, beauty and habitat for a much more productive and balanced backyard. Learn the fundamentals and shortcuts with us.

Sat. June 8th Workshop - Sourdough for Beginners

Always wanted to start making sourdough bread at home? This little workshop will show you how to start off and give you the best & easiest recipes ever! Take home your own starter culture and start baking. Limited numbers available.

Sun. June 9th PDC Workshop 11 - Permaculture Design Process

Learn the steps to designing a holistic & integrated property using Permaculture principles for your own place or to become a professional designer. Site measurement & analysis, plans/scale drawings, client consultations etc.

Sun. June 23rd PDC Workshop 12 - Permablitz Skills Day
time: TBC, cost: $110

A fun day to get your hands dirty & learn practical skills. Working on a site you will do things like building a worm farm, planting, sheet mulching, building garden structures, install retic, construct garden beds etc. The activities will vary depending on the design needs, but it’ll always be fun! Limited places available.

Sat. July 20th Workshop - Fermented Foods for Beginners

We’ll open your mind to alternative living out of the rat race.
